Warhol on Vinyl: The Record Covers, 1949 – 1987+

Well, we’ve come to a kind of an end here at Warhol Covers.com. Having amassed pretty much all the Warhol related covers available, I’ve been approached by the Cranbrook Art Museum about my collection of more than 250 Warhol related covers. They wanted to put on an exhibition this Summer of my covers and hopefully have it travel to other university
affiliated museums around the world.

I’ve agreed to this concept and have promised to donate my collection in its entirety. So the Cranbrook Art Museum will have the largest collection of Warhol related vinyl and CD covers of any museum, including the Warhol museum. The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has been extremely supportive and has given Cranbrook 9 prints from their collection stamped for education and research only.

The title of the exhibition will be, Warhol on Vinyl: The Record Covers, 1949 – 1987+, and it will open to members of the Museum on June 20th. The general public opening will be in the 21st. There will be a listening station and a screening room. I will share additional details as they become available.
