This is a newly discovered Warhol cover. The image used on the label and the back cover is a Warhol work on paper titled, The Kiss (Bela Lugosi). It was recently sold at auction in London for more than $5 million, a record for a Warhol work on paper.

The Swedish punk band Usch formed in 1978 was heavily influenced by The Clash, the Sex Pistols and Sweden’s Ebba Grön. Their second single “Döda djur / Spökstad (translated: Dead Animals / Big City) was released in 1981 under the band name Enola Gay. The group disolved shortly thereafter.

This is a great find. Have you been able to find out if this was authorized or just borrowed?

That’s a great question. Richard had some pretty good information about this group, but I don’t believe anything definitive about the use of the image. My gut feeling is that this was not authorized.
